A light-hearted look back on another fantastic year for PCC
(beginning with some serious awards)

Best batsman: Sudhir

Best bowler: Prakash (incl season best 4-9 in league final, and bowling the opposition captain first ball!)

...although Prakash did also win “Worst Over of the Year” award for conceding 25 vs Leipzig in the “super over”!

Best fielder: Roy: never take a single vs Roy!
... Also had season-best 7 catches, along with Honz

…but Roy also wins “Worst Fielding Judgment” for overruling the wicketkeeper on a catch, then dropping it! (in Vienna)

Newcomers: Sid, Jawid, Jan, Matt (two games, two ducks!), Kirti Raj, Alex, Ady, Oliver, Asif, Ricky and Vijithkumar.

“Best newcomer” - Rahul (season best 71*, though Sudhi did get 70* in last game!)

“Most melodramatic catch” - Roy (cartwheeling C&B vs Barbars)

“Most aggressive batsman” - can only be the man who walks 5m down the wicket every time! – Rahul

“Best dressed” - Asif, Manish and Rohit, who were asked to change out of their white kit during the T20 (white-ball!) final!

“Best debut” - co-winners Oliver for taking a wicket in his first ever over of league cricket! And Jan for being in the middle, and “running” the winning runs in his first ever innings in league cricket! (even if he was 0* off 0 balls!)

“Hat-trick of the Year” - Wojtek for being dismissed 3 times in 3 balls at nets, a team hat-trick!

“Worst attempt at scoring 'six to win'” - Sudhir (clean bowled vs Dresden)

The “don't talk to strangers” award – Adrian (a long night in Dresden!)

“Navigational expertise of the year” – co-winners Rahul and Dan for ending up 70km in the wrong direction from Dresden on the way home – then we had to drive all the way back to Dresden before going home!

“Most extravagant winning shot” – Roy (Dilscoop in 40-over final!)

“Longest innings ever by a Russian” - Slava for his epic innings vs Dejvice

“Longest time spent arranging the field” - Drakey (aka “Sixfer”)

“Deserved injury” award - Vijay for excessive girliness in the field which resulted, quite rightly, in the ball hitting him anyway!

“Harsh lesson” award - Jakub for fearlessness in nets, and learning (the hard way) that a box is very essential in cricket!

“Comeback” award – Talib for his return in the PCC Sixes Day, including some great “test-match” batting and throwing his wicketkeeping gloves off to complain that he’d been stung by a bee!!

“Loudest tutting” - Drakey fielding at slip vs Vienna

“Catch of the year” - a few possibilities but Honza’s one-handed catch gave Sudhir his only wicket of the season in Vienna

...and finally, the “Outstanding Services in the field of Topless Bowling” award – Andy (Vienna)

Thanks to everyone above and everyone else who was involved this year for providing great entertainment! And we look forward to making 2012 bigger and better!
